2010 Consumer Electronics Show: Connected TV or Internet TV and IPAD Tablet Rivals
This year's consumer electronics is all about Internet-connected TV. Skeptics are wondering wether it will even take off and allow viewers to watch web videos and traditional television shows. Web-capable TV is on the mind of all the manufacturers. The idea is that these new TV sets already have the capability built in. But this year is specially marked by the ipad which has garnered a lot of attention. Well, let us just say that the Apple's IPad is the top dog that all the competitors are trying to emulate. Some of its rivals include the devices developed by the likes of Hewlett Packard Inc., Blackberry-maker Research in Motion Ltd., Microsoft Corp that have already developed some forms of tablets. Web-connected TV will have to come with high resolution screens. Web-connected TV is here to make its firm debut, but mobile technology facilitated by companies such as AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Sony's Blu-Ray players and home theater, Broadcom, Google with its Android software are quickly making mobile connectivity the next big thing. Internet-TV services are now possible. The companies just need to refine things up. The jury is still out on Google TV software which is supposed to marry the Web and traditional TV with its most recent TV set. There may not be too much consumer's enthusiasm for it right now. Do not expect much info from the manufacturers this year because Google has to refine its software. It needs to work out the kinks.
